Salon Contemporary is on the quest to discover the most ground-breaking and ambitious new graduates ready to be thrust into the contemporary art scene as part of a landmark annual event held at the thriving Notting Hill gallery. After a renowned panel of judges have reviewed the submissions, the short listed artists will have their work displayed at Salon Contemporary in April 2011, with the chance of national exposure and international opportunities.
We’re calling on artists in their final year of BA or MA within arts institutions to apply - from the visual arts to performance and film! This is not just any London exhibition; “Best of British” heralds the arrival of the next generation of precocious, era defining artists.
To Apply:
Applicants must be in their final year of BA University degree, or final year of MFA. All work entered must be of your current practice. Entrants must submit no more than 8 digital jpeg images, an artist statement (no more than 300 words), a detailed artist CV (stating date of birth, education, exhibitions, publications in, awards residencies, collections in) and contact details.

**Salon Contemporary is a vibrant hot-bed and network for new talent, carefully selected by director Samir Ceric and his extensive network of industry professionals from the UK's leading art schools, offering an array of original works that explode onto the art market with refreshing vivacity. Assisting the running of ‘Best of British’ is Friedrich Gräfling, a German art collector based in London, UK. Both Ceric and Gräfling will be members on the judging panel of ‘Best of British’. ‘Best of British’, ‘Artist of the Week’ and ‘Curator of the Month’ form an integral part of a new and exciting concept that Salon Contemporary has launched in the recent months.
Salon Contemporary is offering emerging, innovative and passionate artists out there a chance to display their work in the creative hub of Notting Hill!‘Artist of the Week’ is a new and exciting competition, with the opportunity for one selected artist each week to have their work featured on our website in the run up to our AoW Christmas Exhibition. The winning candidate will then be offered a residency in London’s West End!
